Recipes!

With the Holidays upon us, we wanted to share a few recipes with everyone that we absolutely love. These three sweet concoctions will have you weak in the knees this holiday season, and one of them won't even be hard on your waist line! Just one though. It's the Holidays, after all. Enjoy!

2 Minute Chocolate and Salted Caramel Mug Cake
This recipe takes 5 minutes tops to make from start to finish, and just 2 minutes to actually cook. And it's a single serving - so not to tempt you with the goodness with an entire pan of leftovers! Oh and if you can't find salted caramels, you can sprinkle fleur de sel salt into the mixture. Gotta love that salty/sweet combo!

What You'll Need: (Makes 1 mug cake)
4 tablespoons all purpose flour
4 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg- beaten
3 tablespoons skim milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 salted caramels

What to do:
1. In a small bowl add: flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, salt, egg, milk and vegetable oil. Mix to combine.
2. Pour mixture into a regular sized coffee mug. Drop caramels into center of mixture one at a time.
3. Microwave on high for one minute 30 seconds. If needed (if cake batter is still gooey), microwave on high for up to an additional 30 seconds.

Okay so this next one really isn't a recipe, per se, but we think it's adorable. And for those with little ones at home, can you imagine how much they would love this?

Elf Donuts

These tiny little donuts aren't really donuts at all- they are cheerios that have been dipped in various things to look like tiny donuts. Elf donuts if you will! Let your little ones leave these out along with the cookies for Santa and the carrots for the reindeer. After all, the elves work hard too!

What you'll need:
Cheerios
Chocolate Chips
Sprinkles
Cinnamon
Sugar
Powdered Sugar

What to do:
For chocolate sprinkle donuts, melt a small batch of chocolate chips in the microwave. Dip one side of the Cheerio in the chocolate, then into the sprinkles. So cute!
For the powdered version, simply dip a Cheerio into powdered sugar. This works better if you use Honey Nut Cheerios - they are a little stickier and hold onto the powdered sugar better!
And for the Cinnamon Sugar version, just dip the Cheerio in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar! Again, honey nut works better for a stickier surface!

Last but not least, we have a healthy sweet alternative to all the other indulgences you'll be faced with in the upcoming weeks. This one is so good, and totally satisfies any sweet tooth, with none of the guilt!

Yogurt Dipped Strawberries

What you'll need:
Strawberries
Yogurt of your choice (we like plain Greek yogurt, for health sake and the texture is easier to work with)
Waxed Paper

What you do:
Take the stems off the strawberries.
Dip them into the yogurt, and put them directly onto a cookie sheet covered in waxed paper.
Put in freezer for about an hour.

The perfect healthy treat!

The Balm - Nude 'Tude

You might be familiar with The Balm, one of our favorite brands of makeup here at Hemline. We love everything about it: the product itself is great, from the lip balms to eyeshadows and bronzers, the names of the products are so catchy ("Stania"c Lip Stain, "Meet Matte" Eye Palette) and the packaging is so cute - and functional! The eye palettes come with a good sized mirror and eyeshadow brush!

The newest member to The Balm family is their new eye palette, Nude 'Tude. You probably guessed from the name, but this palette is filled with all things nude. We love the subtle and sexy vibe it gives to your peepers. And with names like "Soultry" and "Sassy", how could you not feel, well, soultry and sassy?!
This amazing little palette is only $36 - with 12 colors, a cute compact and a brush, we think that's a steal!

Sara Happ

We'd like to introduce you to our new best friend, Sara Happ. No, we haven't technically met the woman, but once you try her products, she will be your best friend too!
She started out making lip products in her kitchen because "the world didn't need another lip balm. It needed the perfect one".
We couldn't agree more. Hemline is happy to now carry a few of our favorite Sara products! The lip scrub leaves your lips feeling so silky smooth, and a perfect foundation for your holiday red lips. Oh and the smell is AMAZING. You'll have to stop yourself from wanting to eat it. After you prep your lips with the scrub, spread on a little "lip slip"- it really is the perfect lip balm.
Buy a few for gifts this year - the recipients will not be disappointed!
Oh and they both retail for $24!
